Murasaki Japanese Restaurant

Thanks for visiting us but unfortunately you are too late. Murasaki has closed its door after 24 years of serving the best Japanese food in Australia. Sato-san if you see this, its Richard-san here. Please contact me at:

This site is now dedicated to the restaurant that started my love of Japanese food. Its a reminder that nothing is forever so visit all your local haunts before they are gone.

Browse Murasaki's menus and relive all the delicious classics such as their green tea maccha crape with banana and their fresh sashimi.

Leave a comment we would love to hear your thoughts.

I was the second customer through the door of Murasaki when it opened at lunchtime in 1986. I last dined there shortly after getting married a few years ago and was looking forward to celebrating my birthday there this week. I am shocked and very sad that this will not happen. I hope that Sato-san is well and happy.

24 yrs ago my now husband and I discovered a new Japanese restaurant called Murasaki. We began our lifes togeather with Sato. We would dine up to 3 times a week in those early years. I'm very sad. I really wanted my children to experience the best Shabu Shabu.
To Sato & his family we hope that you are all well and thanking you for the best Japanese food and hospitality. Goodluck for thr future.

So sad to see you go. You have been the favourite restaurant for my husband and I since before we married. Although we were only able to enjoy a meal every six months or so, you made it very special for us both. I will remember your wonderful food , hospitality and the lovely times we had there with joy. Thank you.
